During the current COVID 19 situation, our engineering inspectors are inspecting workplace equipment under the government guidelines for our safety and yours. Thorough Examination LOLER Inspections are still a legal requirement and there is no leeway given as under cars, lorries and trailers. If your site is open and you are using equipment it must have a valid certificate of inspection.

The obligations for Thorough Examination under LOLER and adequate maintenance and inspection under PUWER are statutory requirements which remain in place despite the coronavirus outbreak. The period between TE cannot be extended beyond that specified in the scheme of inspection. Where equipment is under a lease or hire agreement, servicing and LOLER examinations must be continued in accordance with the agreement. If you have any specific requirements to cover the Coronovirus please let us know. Our engineers are fully briefed and compliant with health & hygiene regulations for COVID - 19. We will require the equipment to be quarantined in a safe area and our engineer should not be in close proximity of any persons on site as per government guidelines If your current provider is unable to attend to carry out your inspections and certificate the equipment, please give us a call, we may be able to assist. No contracts to sign required.
The HSE have just issued another guidance document April 2020 . It is very important to read this to ascertain the legal responsibility on having equipment inspected under LOLER /PSSR.
